I never used my real name asd
I remember that in Red I used to call him "Ash" (how dumb I was...) and after that I started using random names like Aiko (Sapphire first run) and some others. After that when I started my first Pokémon website I started using the name Yu for my player avatar and I still use it :yesyes2: :sisi2: the only exception is Alpha Sapphire where the player has the name "MAY" (as a tribute to May/Haruka from the anime -> and of my current nickname asd)

Ooh... Fun topic.
I usually give them my real name. It makes the story and the world so much more personal. It feels really good when the characters in the game call you by your real name and make you feel really important :)

However, I use "Zone" in romhacks

I really agree with you, not specifically in Pokémon, 'cause all the dialogs are only text. But, for example, in Grid Autosport, is really a "nice" sensation when you boot the game and listen to the announcer says something like* - in my case - "Welcome back, Pablo", or in the middle of the race listen your engineer motivates you "Good work Pablo, you scored the fastest lap of the race". That is really cool, indeed.

*I play Autosport in portuguese, so the dialogs can be a bit different in your language.

I've always used the name Jules for my games because that's the nickname that my family has used since I was little.

Some Scandinavian name, or more or less, after flowers.
These have a nice ring to them and come off the tongue well.

Oh, that sounds interesting! Can you give us any examples?
