The new rules for the upcoming Rating Battle (Season 17) have been revealed. Season 17 will run from July 19th 2016 to September 2016 and runs on both X & Y and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Format: Single Battles
All Pokémon will be set to level 50 for the duration of the battle and all Pokémon require the blue pentagon. You choose 1 Pokémon out of your 6 and you can't have two Pokémon holding the same item. You cannot use Mega Stones or Focus Sash & Soul Dew in this format.
Pokémon Restrictions: National Pokédex
Banned Pokémon: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion.

Play today in Rating Battle Season 17, including the exciting Special format featuring superfast battles. Using the same regulations as the Flash Clash Online Competition from earlier this year, you’ll battle with only one of your Pokémon, and you’ll have only 10 seconds to choose your move each round. The match timer is set to five minutes, meaning battles will be lightning fast.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire players will continue to battle against players from only those games in the ΩR/αS League. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y players will compete in a separate league against other Pokémon X and Pokémon Y players in the X/Y League.
