Anime Digimon Tri discussion thread

It's an OK movie for me, here's why:

1. Animation looked great, past movies had instances where the animation had horrible, early Dragon Ball Super moments...
2. Good story and ending to a certain degree.
3. I freaking loved Genai Black! His faces and personality are hilarious!

Here are my problems and why I said to a certain degree...

1. The ending was made in a way where Tri can easily be written off and they can say it never happened, between Meiko leaving, Genai disappearing, 02 cast returning and healing fine in the hospital, killing off Maki and Daigo, and Yggdrassil being "shut off" by Homeostasis.
2. Magnadramon, there was no explanation as to why oh why Gatomon turned into the Goat Dragon instead of her True Mega Ophanimon seeing as she digivolved into Ophanimon Falldown Mode in the previous movie which is a form that only Ophanimon can achieve not Magnadramon...
3. Meikoomon was killed off, yes most Digimon come back to life eventually but this wasn't mentioned at all, and in all honesty the final battle should have involved her turning into Rasielmon, which could have possibly explained why Gatomon turned into the Goat Dragon! Whether it was a Data exchange or the fact that the writers didn't want to have two Digimon of very similar lore together!

So with the ending of Genai saying who's next Demon or maybe Diaboromon. Seeing as Diaboromon already has a "Revenge Movie" I don't see the writers bringing him back... Demon is a character they had plans for in 02 but wasn't used due to the higher ups not agreeing on a story line for the Dark Ocean arc. So he's a good contender for the possible sequel we might have!

Next it's from a scene in the Final movie that makes me question what in the world they might be planning!?

During the scene with the 02 Cast in the pods, there was an extra character next to Ken now there are 2 possible characters it might be!

• Real Genai
• Ryo

So the character in the pod has a hairstyle and ponytail similar to either! But I'm leaning towards Ryo! Ryo was originally from the 02 cast and he fought with Ken to defeat Millenniummon, while all this happened within video games, there was a flashback or two in 02 of Ken remembering when Millenniummon was defeated and the Dark Spore entered his body changing him into the Digimon Emperor.

This is a story which would have very interesting and amazing to explore! And it is something which can be built in with the Daemon story in a sequel if it is done!
