Interview Ishihara about the new Pokémon 2019 Game

In an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, the Pokémon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, provided some new tidbits about the Pokémon switch game that will release in 2019.
He confirmed (again) that the game is due for release in the second half of 2019 and will have better graphics than any prior Pokémon game. The game will be a completely new game and will contain many brand new Pokémon.

– “The release in the second half of 2019 is a completely different game. This will not be an entry point into the series, but rather something that we want people who have been enjoying Pokemon games for a long time to look forward to.”
– “The game will be released for the Switch, but we have kept in mind the ‘hands on’ approach that we’ve had so far. We have also polished the graphics.”
– “The game will make it easy to see the way in which Game Freak has continued to evolve and succeed the tradition of Pokemon.”
– “We want to deliver a product with lots of experiences where we can say ‘We did this for the Pokemon fans’ and where you can meet a lot of new Pokemon. A so called ‘completely new product’.”

Honestly I'd say wait, especially if you are a hard core player and are used to the original mechanics and enjoy doing Wi-fi battles.

I know myself... so I think I'll buy Let's Go and the 2019 game...
I suggest you to wait a little to know what Let's Go will offer us, maybe they will add something that you will like and that will help you decide for now there's not much information. After that, if you don't like Let's Go (or if there isn't anything that you like) you can simply wait for the 2019 game (they already confirmed that it won't be a game like Let's Go but something like XY/SM and will introduce new Pokémon)

What I'm praying for and would definitely get me to buy a Switch for is that we get a dual region game! More specifically a game with Kalos and the Region East of it where we can take a train to from the empty train station! I'm probably asking for too much though...

Kalos has become my favorite Region, that would kind of suck if we'd have to wait until we get to Gen 6 Remakes... But would kind of make sense...

My favorite region is Hoenn, but I like every region (but Kalos is the least I like)

I know... I was just hoping for a bit of the Gen 2 treatment for XY since it more less of screwed since it got no 3rd version or Sequel. Thinking about it I think it's the only game which didn't get a 3rd version or anything!

UNOVA! Of course, that's my favourite region, and since Kanto got a third remake I think Unova and all the other games should get a remake on the switch.
As for Kalos and Sinnoh, they should have been the first for remakes...

I put all my hopes into this 2019 title. Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee seem incomplete "core" titles where GF decided to use as a bridge to bring GO players into the main games while experimenting on all these new features. The 2019 title will probably be more complete, with a new generation of Pokemon, new region and new story like most fans have been expecting.

Personally, I'd like to see a region with a stronger theme focusing on its geography. Alola and Hoenn did a good job with the tropical/warm region concept, but I think they were still a bit less ambitious with their approach, as they carefully tried to implement icy and desert areas into the region for variety. Something I'd like to see is a region with all snow or all desert where we can see how the Pokemon and People adapted to their environment.
(I hear Orre is kinda like that)

Yeah, Let's Go seems a game for casual players and the one that played GO and want to know more about Pokémon (and to have more time while they work on the new game)... but the 2019 game will be like always (new Pokémon, new region)

Personally, I'd like to see a region with a stronger theme focusing on its geography. Orre was like that XD there was a lot of desert areas (7.8 too much desert )

Yes! Cold region! Desert region!
For cold region, it could be based off Canada and for desert, it could be based off Australia since Australia is pretty much a big desert. XDD
And i want an Unova and Sinnoh remake, pLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
